How often do I need to see my Chiropractor?

by | Feb 4, 2020 | Blog

Without a doubt, Chiropractors firstly always aim to make their patients feel better as soon as possible.  In being able to deliver that, Chiropractors are then able to get to the main goal of Chiropractic and that is to get your body functioning at optimum.

It is important to understand that there is a difference between feeling better and functioning well.  To put it into perspective, all of us have no doubt heard stories of super-fit world-class athletes who, after a race or game, suddenly die of a heart attack for instance.  Were these athletes feeling good before their race?  Most likely.  Were they functioning well?  Apparently not.

Feeling well and functioning well are 2 very different entities.  A Chiropractor’s goal for patients is to get them feeling better firstly, but it is so much more than that.  It is to get the body, brain and nervous system firing and functioning at peak levels so that a patient feels and functions terrifically.

Revisiting the question of how often you need to see a Chiropractor, depends on:

  • The cause of your complaint
  • How long your problem has been present
  • If and what kind of previous treatment you have had
  • Your body’s natural rate of healing
  • Your current health
  • How compliant you are with possible exercises, stretches or ergonomic advice you have been prescribed
  • Your chosen care plan once discussing your options with the Chiropractor

Coming up with a plan that allows our patients to get the care they need, meet the goals they have set up and encompass what is realistically achievable in that time frame, will allow your Chiropractor to work out the best programme going forward.
