Do Chiropractors crack bones?

by | Jan 7, 2020 | Blog

Hollywood movies have for years, given us Chiropractors far too much credit in this department.  The ‘popping’, or ‘cracking’ sound from a Chiropractic adjustment comes from the release of a gas bubble housed in the joint capsule surrounding the joint.  The sound actually has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the Chiropractic adjustment technique.  When a well-executed adjustment is applied, there may be absolutely no sound because the sound has no bearing on the quality of the adjustment.

Many patients get hung up on the sound and this is purely because they have been incorrectly led to believe by mainstream influences, that for an adjustment to work, there must be a sound.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  It is just an incidental occurrence and has as much significance as when the body releases any other gas.
